Apple Store Now Accepts These 15 Android Phones

Apple has opened its trade-in program to 72 different Android models, allowing owners of older smartphones to apply credit toward a new iPhone. The company offers the option to trade in devices online or in person, but only specific phones are supported. This program provides a way to offset the cost of the iPhone 17, which starts at $599 for the 256 GB model, or the more expensive iPhone 17 Pro series.

The trade-in website can be confusing. The main Android menu initially shows only 18 devices when you click “See all Android values.” To access the full list of 72 models, users must click the blue “Find your trade-in value” button. The company does not list every Samsung Galaxy or Pixel on the main page.

While the list includes many popular handsets from recent years, Apple excludes some of the latest Samsung phones. Specifically, the Galaxy S26 and S24 series are not eligible for trade-in credit through Apple’s portal. The list of 72 eligible devices includes the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. Other models on the list include the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and S25 FE. Google’s newer iterations of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and 10 Pro XL also appear on the list, alongside the standard Pixel 10 and Pixel 9a.

Maximum trade-in values for top models

Apple provides price estimates only for 18 devices on the shortlist. The maximum trade-in value applies to the top storage option when the device is in good condition. For example, trading in a 1 TB OnePlus 13 in good condition can yield a maximum value of $250.

      • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: up to $125
      • Google Pixel 9 Pro XL: up to $315
      • Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: up to $340
      • Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: up to $330
      • Google Pixel 10 Pro: up to $315

Apple evaluates devices based on their physical condition. A phone is considered “good” if every part is functional, but the body and display may have minimal wear like light scratches or chips. A device labeled “damaged” will have more noticeable wear, missing parts, or functionality issues. The final offer might be lower than the initial estimate if the physical inspection reveals damage not disclosed during the online process.

How the trade-in process works

Customers have two ways to trade in their old Android phone for an iPhone. They can visit a local Apple Store where staff will evaluate the device and provide a quote, or they can start the process online through the trade-in portal. The online tool requires users to identify their device, select the storage capacity, and choose the condition rating.

After inputting this information, users can select an Apple gift card or apply the credit toward purchasing a new iPhone. The company will email instructions on how to mail in the device or drop it off at a store. The estimate provided during the online check is not final until Apple physically inspects the phone and confirms its condition.
